Fujifilm US has just announced the launch of Fujifilm Professional Services. Just like Canon’s CPS and Nikon’s NPS, Fujifilm’s FPS is a service and repair program for qualifying professionals that gives them access to expedited repairs, loaner equipment and more.
The news broke earlier today, and while it might not be as “groundbreaking” as the AP switching to Sony cameras, it represents a major step from Fuji as more photographers and filmmakers begin using X-series and GFX cameras for their professional work.
As with the other Professional Services programs, in order to qualify you need to own a certain amount of Fujifilm gear; however, Fuji doesn’t require you to prove that you’re a working pro the way Nikon Professional Services and most tiers of Canon Professional Services do. You simply have to own and register $3,000 or more of Fuji X or GFX gear at this website.
Once you hit 3 grand, you’re automatically eligible to purchase a membership, which will cost you $400 per year ($400 more than NPS, and $100 more than Canon’s Platinum level).
If you do qualify and you do decide to purchase a subscription, being a Fuji Professional Services member comes with several perks, including:
- Dedicated phone and email support
- A 1-year extended warranty on any new gear purchased and registered during a qualifying membership year
- 2 free check and cleans (for up to one covered camera and one covered lens each time)
- 50% off on additional check and cleans
- 30% off expedited repairs
- Two business day turnaround on repairs (when available/some exclusions apply)
- Access to repair loaners (terms & conditions apply)
You can read the detailed breakdown of all the benefits—including all of the “terms,” “conditions” and “exclusions”—at this link.
“We created this professional services program from the ground up to provide a level of support and peace-of-mind to the numerous professionals using our gear day-to-day,” says Victor Ha, Senior Director of Marketing and Product Management for Fuji North America. “We took the suggestions from our community to heart, and are proud to offer this program to our X Series and GFX System users. I am confident that the program will be an asset to its members.”
To learn more about the new program, head over to the Fujifilm Professional Services website. And if you own $3,000 in (non-gray market, non-refurbished) Fujifilm gear, you may want to register ASAP. Between now and September 30th, qualifying new FPS users can get their first year for half price.
